The rumor of a gun threat put Webster County High School on lockdown.
A spokesperson with the schools Board of Education tells us one student had threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot a classmate.
A concerned parent found out and alerted the county sheriff.
The school and the sheriffs department took all precautions and put deputies at the doorways, not allowing anyone to go in or out without being scanned by a metal detector.
Classes were in session, but parents were allowed to pick up their kids.
