LST 325 Still Stranded in Peoria

By: Web Producer
Updated: September 13, 2007
More delays for the LST 325 on its adventure in Peoria, Illinois. The captain says the Illinois River isnt falling fast enough to allow the ship to pass under some low bridges. He made the decision to stay in the central Illinois river city until Tuesday. This will affect the visit to Henry Illinois. Theyre having to cancel that trip and instead, head back down river to Alton Illinois near St. Louis. So far, 21,000 people have toured the historic ship during its stay in Peoria. The LST is expected to be docked in Evansville again next Thursday, September 13th.
