Green River Road Hassles

Plans to close North Green River Road have commuters and residents stewing.
The county could save close to 3 million dollars if Green river is shut down from 2008 to 2010 during an extensive widening project.
Plans for expanding the busy thoroughfare include filling in low spots in the Pigeon creek flood plain and that is expected to take several months.
Commuters and residents have asked the county to keep travel lanes open during all or part of the work.
County engineers say theyre exploring options and are looking at funding alternatives that could keep the road open.
