The town of Chandler wants to make about 900 Warrick county residents part of the city.
Tonight an engineering firm contracted by the town presented its recommendation for annexation.
They propose annexing almost a thousand acres of Warrick County land in four different phases.
The point is increasing the citys tax base.
If the town council chooses to incorporate the entire recommended area they could increase their tax base by about 190 thousand dollars.
Its a proposal not sitting well with many residents who voiced their opposition at tonights meeting.
"I cant see none of this. It dont make no sense to me. I wish you could be in my shoes and feel how I feel," says county resident Ron Lucas.
"I would ask everyone not to get upset this is an issue thats not popular but dont let their emotions run away with em," says town council president Brian Lucas.
After the council reviews tonights proposal they will hold a public forum before the annexation phases begin.
Total annexation could take up to two years.
The town says its already cost 39 thousand dollars just to get this recommendation from the engineering firm.
