Warning for Daviess Co., KY Tornado Victims

Two notes of warning for Daviess County Kentucky residents dealing with the tornado aftermath.
First.. avoid anyone soliciting money for the "Owensboro-Daviess County Disaster Relief Fund".
There is no disaster relief fund of that name.
The only official relief fund in place is:

Others accepting donations are the Big Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Owensboro Salvation Army.
Another note of warning... the Daviess County Emergency Management Agency urges everyone to be cautious when hiring contractors to fix your property. The group wants people to know contractors doing work must have an occupational license. Those can be obtained at city hall or the county courthouse. In addition to a license, contractors also should be able to provide a certificate of insurance, showing liability and workers' comp coverage.
