Concierge Care

By: Web Producer
Updated: October 26, 2007
Dr. Mark Martin got the idea to research other options when his patients complained their insurance wasnt working the way it should be. A fellow doctor friend had been doing conceirge care in Florida for a few years and suggested Martin implement it here. Heres how it works. Patients pay one sum up front and then get: * Unlimited doctors visits * 24-hour access to doctors pager or cell * 2 in-home visits per year * Can usually be seen right away * Access to specialists * Preventive care * Annual physcials and other exams not normally covered. Dr. Martin says, "Found out - basically if you link it to a catastrophic which will pick up hospitalization stuff, we can basically do in office stuff for much less fee than what we were doing." Dr. martin is starting concierge care in 2008. The cost is $1,000 per adult.
