Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff to honor the death of another tri-state soldier.
The Department of Defense says Master Sargeant Thomas Bruner of Owensboro died Sunday from a non-combat related illness in Kabul, Aghanistan.
Bruner was a part of the 2nd Brigade, 100th Division of the Army Reserve based in Owensboro.
He was 50 years old.
Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of the Sargeant's funeral, which has not yet been determined.
