Updated: November 2, 2007

A Vincennes man faces charges after police say he punched a paramedic in the face early Friday morning. Police say the suspect, 20 year old Michael Braithwaite, crawled onto a man's porch in Bruceville from a home nearby and began pounding on the door. By the time the homeowner answered the door, Braithwaite was unconscious and the homeowner called 911. Emergency personnel quickly noticed the suspect was intoxicated, but they still took him to the local hospital. In the ambulance, Braithwaite woke up and punched the paramedic. He was arrested once he was released from the hospital later that morning. Braithwaite now faces three misdemeanor charges, battery, disorderly conduct and a charge of minor consumption of alcohol.
