Several residents are homeless tonight and one man dead, after a fire ignites at an apartment on Begonia Court.
The fire started late this afternoon at the Hickory Lake Apartments, a complex for those 55 and older. According to Dan
Grimm with the Evansville Fire Department, the fire may have started when a cigarette ignited a mans oxygen tank. That man is reportedly the victim. Officials were able to extinguish the blaze, but several apartments were completely destroyed.
Fire officials are still investigating the fire to verify an exact cause.
