Friday is the unofficial kick off to the holiday shopping experience. Some people avoid Black Friday at all cost, but many tri-staters braved the cold and the chaos to find the deals. Before sunrise, customers lined up outside most retailers hoping to be first in line for great deals. Once doors opened, its was a free-for-all of frenzied shoppers armed with shopping lists. People expect to save a ton of money on Black Friday, the day when retailers offer great discounts on digital cameras, computers, plasma tvs and everything else. It is all part of a marketing strategy to lure more consumers into their shops. Black Friday is good indicator on how well retail sales will be for the holiday. This year, analysts expect sales to be the weakest in five years.
