An overnight high speed car chase, and maybe more.
Dustin Nevil faces charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, and numerous other traffic violations.
A Vanderburgh County Sheriffs deputy says he noticed a driver acting suspicious on Old Henderson Road, so he tried to pull him over. But he sped away. The chase went into Posey County and hit speeds of more than 80 miles an hour in the rain. It eventually ended on Highway 65 in Vanderburgh County when Nevil tried to drive through a field but got stuck, and ran away on foot. Deputies were able to get his cell phone number. They called him and convinced him to turn himself in. Investigators say Nevil had two 55-gallon drums full of diesel fuel and a hose in the back of his truck when he stopped.
