Some one-point-two-million vans, SUVs and heavy-duty pick-up trucks are being recalled by Ford Motor Company. The automaker says a defect in an engine sensor can cause sudden stalling. Notice of the recall was posted with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Ford says vehicles equipped with a seven-point-three-liter diesel engine could stall without warning, causing a crash. Vehicles that are part of the recall were built between 1997 and 2003. The recall extends to Fords E-Series full-size van, the Excursion SUV and the F-450 Super Duty pickup truck. Dealers will inspect the camshaft sensor on the affected vehicles and replace it without charge.
