Bonds To Be Arraigned Today
(San Francisco, CA) -- Barry Bonds is expected to enter a plea of not guilty today when hes arraigned on four counts of perjury and one-count of obstruction of justice.
Prosecutors say Bonds lied when he told a grand jury investigating the BALCO steroid-case that he had never knowingly used performance-enhancing drugs.
Outside the court, PETA will protest the use of drugs in chickens and turkeys.
The group plans to have two women wearing lettuce leaf bikinis hand out faux-turkey sandwiches.
PETA says chickens and turkeys are routinely forced to consume growth-enhancing drugs to make them bigger, and the drugs are eventually consumed by humans.

Southern California Tense About Mudslides And Flooding
(Orange County, CA) -- Heavy rain is forecast for Southern California over the next couple of days, which could cause problems in areas charred by recent wildfires.
Officials say the showers could result in major flooding and mudslides in those areas.
A voluntary evacuation order has been issued for an estimated two-thousand residents in the burn areas of Santiago Canyon in Orange County.
In another area, flood waters over a major interstate in Washington state have receded and Department of Transportation crews opened Interstate-5 Thursday night to commercial vehicles.

CIA Videotaped, Destroyed Interrogation Tapes
(Washington, DC) -- The CIA admits it destroyed tapes showing terrorism interrogations.
CIA Director Michael Hayden issued a memo to employees saying that the taping started in 2002 with the interrogation of suspected al-Qaeda lieutenant Abu Zubaydah and later stopped.
The videotapes were destroyed in 2005.
Hayden says the tapes were destroyed to protect CIA workers from retaliation from al-Qaeda or sympathizers if they were leaked.

Former New York Cop Calls For 9-11 Plates
(Hauppauge, NY) -- A retired New York City police officer who is suing the Department of Motor Vehicles to keep his 9-11 inspired license plates is now taking up another cause against the state agency.
Arno Herweth believes New York should issue plates commemorating the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Herweth tells "Newsday" that it lacks common sense for the state where the tragedy actually happened not to have such plates.
He suing to keep his customized license plates saying, "GETOSAMA."

Today Marks 66th Anniversary Of Attack On Pearl Harbor
Its Pearl Harbor Day, the 66th anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Navys Pacific Fleet near Honolulu, Hawaii.
About 350 Japanese aircraft launched the sneak assault on a Sunday morning, killing more than 23-hundred servicemen.
The next day, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed a joint session of Congress, calling December 7th, 1941, quote, "a date which will live in infamy." Saying Japan had been negotiating a peace treaty with the U.S. even as the attack occurred, Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan.

"Harry Potter" Author Named "Most Fascinating" By Barbara Walters
J.K. Rowling not only captured the literary market this year, she caught Barbara Walters eye.
The author of the "Harry Potter" series was named the "Most Fascinating Person of 2007" by the ABC journalist on last nights special.
Others making Walters "Most Fascinating" list included Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, power couple David and Victoria Beckham and singer-actress Jennifer Hudson.
