Property Tax Hearing at USI

Property taxes have been a burning issue with Hoosiers this year and Governor Mitch Daniels has a plan that he says will give homeowners relief by 2009.
Indianas House Ways and Means Committee is traveling the state to introduce Daniels plan, and to get your opinion.
Their hearing at the University of Southern Indiana Monday got mixed reviews.
Former Indiana Senator Paul Bitz was there to voice his opinion.
He says property taxes should be eliminated altogether.
Others who voiced opinions were happy about the proposed 1% property tax cap, but voiced concern with other elements of Daniels plan.
Committee representatives say there are many plans currently making their way through the legislature and all will be taken into consideration.
