The commonwealth of Kentucky has a new governor.
Democrat Steve Beshear took the ceremonial oath Tuesday and became Kentucky's 61st Governor.
The new Governor called on Kentuckians to come together on issues like health care and education.
He also set the bar high on ethics for his administration.
An inaugural parade helped usher in the new administration.
Beshear defeated incumbent Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher last month.
Beshear ran for governor in 1987, but never got past the democratic primary.
