A man suffers a gunshot wound as a result of a deer hunting accident in Washington County, Indiana.
46-year old Derrick Edwards of Indianapolis was hunting in Delaney Creek Bottoms--
when the muzzleloader he was using, exploded while he was unloading it.
Conservation officer Phil Nale said Edwards was lucky he didnt fire it at a deer, had the gun been at his shoulder, the injury could have been much worse.
Edwards was treated for a laceration as a piece of the ruptured barrel passed through his arm when it exploded.
He was using a modern smokeless gun-powder, instead of the required black-powder.
