Residents are keeping a lot of money in their pockets when paying for prescriptions.
That according to new information released by the Vanderburgh County health department.
They say the countys drug discount program, introduced in April, is saving residents nearly a half million dollars in prescription costs.
The free card offers a discount on prescriptions for the uninsured and medicines not covered for the insured.
More than seven thousand Vanderburgh county residents are already using it.
Tamara Ours found out about it while filling a prescription.
She says she the pharmacists told her about how one lady saved $150.
Spokesperson for the countys Health Department Gary Heck says - there is one problem.
They are running out of cards and says it is up to the county whether they will receive more.
More than 44 counties in Indiana now have a drug discount program.
