breaking news
The lesson of the grinch who stole Christmas was played out, almost literally, in Henderson.
Samantha Rivas spent Christmas eve in the hospital with a friend.
When she returned to her home around 9:00 Christmas morning, she found someone had broken in and stolen all of the gifts intended for her 8 and 10 year old sons.
She called the police, who investigated, and then went a step further.
The officers called the manager of Hendersons Wal-Mart to see if he would interrupt his Christmas Day to open the store for a few minutes.
An anonymous individual was even willing to pay for everything.
Police say they have no idea who stole the gifts.
They are just glad the person responsible was not able to steal Christmas from the family as well.
