Four New Troopers are Assigned to the Evansville District
This morning, December 31st, Troopers Ted Clamme, Josh Greer, David Jacobs and Paul Stolz Jr, reported to the Evansville District for their first official day. The Indiana State Police recently graduated 82 new troopers from the Indiana State Police Academy on December 21st. The new troopers have received approximately 840 hours of structured training in law enforcement techniques since the class began on July 14th. Their curriculum included 80 hours of criminal law instruction, 50 hours of vehicle operations training, 30 hours of psychology and 40 hours of “Survival Spanish.” They also developed skills in criminal investigation, vehicle crash investigation and impaired driver prevention and detection. Trooper Ted Clamme, 26, is a native of Hartford City and a 1999 graduate of Blackford High School. He later attended Ball State University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Telecommunications. He is currently residing in Mt. Vernon. Trooper Josh Greer, 22, is a native of Boonville and a 2004 graduate of Boonville High School. Greer will graduate in May 2008 from Indiana State University and receive a Bachelors Degree in Criminology. Greer resides in Boonville. Trooper David Jacobs, 31, is a native of Bluffton and a 1996 graduate of Norwell High School. Jacobs attended Indiana State University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology. Jacobs, his wife Twila and their two-year-old son reside in Vincennes. Trooper Paul Stolz Jr, 23, is a native of Evansville and a 2003 graduate of Mater Dei High School. Stolz is also a member of the Indiana National Guard. He currently resides in Vincennes. All four troopers start their 14 weeks of field training with experienced troopers today. The program allows them to put the skills and knowledge they gained in the academy to work in the field. Upon successful completion of the field training program, they will receive their own patrol car and begin solo patrol responsibilities.
