breaking news
Castle junior Logan Dame is like a lot of high school students, plays ball--goes to dances--and likes hanging out with friends.
But a few months ago, he started having trouble seeing--so he went to the doctor.
Logan Dame: "I had two tears in my retina, thought that might have been it, I had surgery to fix that and they realized that wasnt causing it, so they looked at my cataracts since I had it since I was born, that wasnt it."
Logans eyes werent the problem, but an m-r-i discovered logan had a brain tumor.
Logans mother was shopping when she got the phone call from the doctor.
Tim and Rhonda Dame then had to break the news to their son.
Logan Dame: " I freaked out, big time"
Logan will have surgery Wednesday to remove the tumor that about an inch in diameter.
Doctors are hopeful its benign, but say its going to be exceptionally complicated because of its location.
But Logan and his family wont have to go it alone. Friends are already making plans to be at the hospital with him.
And while he may not play football this year, Logan is ready to get back to school, and back to being a teenager.
Friends are holding a fund-raiser to help pay for medical costs.
Its a rock-a-thon Sunday from noon until six at Castle High.
