Ivy Tech Community College Determines Location for Princeton Instructional Center

EVANSVILLE – Ivy Tech Community College has secured a new location for its Princeton Instructional Center. The Center will be located at 2431 S. Crabtree Drive, on outer south Main St. in Princeton. The 12,000 sq. ft. facility will be remodeled and reconfigured to fit the training and educational programs offered at the Center. The site will offer classrooms, computer labs, staff offices, a student lounge/vending area, and open lab areas for advanced manufacturing training courses. In addition, it will feature a meeting area available for use by the community. The facility is slated to open before August 2008. Ivy Tech will also be hosting a community forum to help determine what type of training and educational programs will be held at the Center. The forum is open to the public and will be held on January 23 at 3 p.m. in the Health and Education room at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. Faculty and staff from Ivy Tech will be at the forum to share preliminary plans for the Center's offerings and to discuss educational options with the community. Ivy Tech will also discuss plans for forming an Advisory Council of local business, community, and education leaders who will help plan and guide the Center. Ivy Tech Community College is one of the nation's largest statewide community college systems and the State's second largest public post-secondary institution with more than 110,000 students enrolled annually. Ivy Tech serves as the State's engine for workforce development, offering affordable degree programs and training that are aligned with local community needs, including courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana. Ivy Tech Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
