Doctors say the officer hit by a car this weekend is improving. Kentucky State Trooper Matt Wise was attempting to stop a vehicle on Kentuckys Natcher Parkway near Owensboro when a van struck him. Wise was thrown 60 feet. The impact fractured his leg in eight places and severely bruised his pelvis. Doctors say Wise will most likely be released from the hospital by the end of the week, but may be out of work for eight to nine months. The driver, Eric Johnson, faces several charges, including assault, endangerment and fleeing and evading police. Click on the Watch icon to see Julie Dolans story from Sunday.
