Reitz Team Honored at Statehouse

News Release:“State Senator Bob Deig (D-Mt. Vernon) and State Representative Trent Van Haaften (D-Mt. Vernon) hosted the Reitz High School Panthers football team at the Statehouse on Monday, January 14, 2008.”
State Senator Bob Deig (D-Mount Vernon) hosted the Reitz High School football team at the Statehouse today. The Reitz Panthers were honored in Senate Concurrent Resolution 14 for completing an undefeated season, including winning the Class 4A IHSAA State Football Championship in 2007. Nearly 100 players, cheerleaders, and coaches, as well as Principal Christine Settles were present in the Senate for their commemoration presented by Deig. Several players were also recognized for success in academics. The captain and senior quarterback, Paul McIntosh, was recognized for being named Indiana’s “Mr. Football” in a separate resolution, Senate Concurrent Resolution 13. McIntosh was responsible for 340 points during the 2007 season and for five touchdowns in the State Title game.
