Ivy Tech Community College Hosts Annual MLK Jr. Community Celebration and Art Exhibit
EVANSVILLE – Ivy Tech Community College is will host it’s 2nd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration and Art Exhibit this Saturday, Jan. 19 from 1-4 p.m. The event will be held at Ivy Tech’s main campus in Evansville at 3501 First Ave. This year’s theme is “Make Your Voice Heard”, and the day will celebrate Dr. King and his leadership in the civil rights movement. The event will feature performances by renowned community groups such as the Boom Squad Incorporated and Carver Community Organization’s After School Dancers! In addition, there will be informational displays by community groups and organizations including the: · African-American Museum · Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences · Lyle’s Station · NAACP · Human Relations Commission · League of Women Voters The event is free and open to the public.
