Black History Month Events

The Joshua Academy Charter School is planning its annual celebration of African-American history and Black History Month. The Black History Museum is 3rd-5th grade, whole-school project in which students depict moments of African-American history in a variety of media, including: dioramas, posters, slideshows, collages, sculptures, and models. In a “walking time line” format, visitors are able to experience the struggles and triumphs of African-Americans from the colonial days of early slavery, the Civil War, the Civil Rights movement, and contemporary Black leaders of today. You are cordially invited to attend the initial showing of this awe-inspiring event on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 4pm-7pm.
