No Statewide Smoking Ban

Hoosiers can continue to smoke in most public places, at least for another year.
A proposal to ban most smoking statewide died in the general assembly.
The House Public Policy Committee heard testimony on the bill, but they adjourned without taking a vote.
Some communities, including Evansville, have their own local bans, but the one in front of the legislature would have included the entire state.
Supporters say they will bring up the issue again next year.
