Storms Hit Area Schools Hard

Schools are closed tomorrow in Pike county and at Gibson Southern.
Classes are also canceled in Grayville tomorrow.
The storms got a hold of the elementary school there.
The elementary school in Grayville is in no shape for learning.
"We have two or three places. Its pretty bad," says Superintendent Dave Scott.
High winds got a hold of the building damaging the gym wall and completely tearing off part of the roof
"The wind was nasty."
And unexpected.
"We thought everything would be in Indiana. We didnt think wed get the winds."
It made for a dramatic night for basketball and volleyball players practicing in the school.
"We get them in the hallway and weathered the storm."
Now that everyone is safe theyre just trying to contain the water leaking in and get everything cleaned up as soon as possible.
Crews will be back as soon as the sun comes up to get a better look at the damage and figure out what it will take to fix it.
They hope the building will only be closed for one day.
