Sixth Annual Hoops for the Cure raises over $9,000!
EVANSVILLE, IN.--For the sixth consecutive year, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team and the Greater Evansville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure teamed up to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer with the annual Hoops for the Cure®. This year’s event raised $9,123.47. This makes the total raised for this event $31,229.86!
The Greater Evansville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure—along with those who generously support us with their talent, time and resources—is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in our community. We join more than 100,000 breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen Evansville Race for the Cure, we have invested over $4 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our 28-county service area located within Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky.
