Fire Destroys Apartments, Red Cross Responds
Owensboro KY – February 1, 2008: The Big Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to the fire the Wards Trend House Furniture and Apartment building on the evening of Thursday, January 31st. The Mosley Street fire destroyed the single family apartment units as well as all of their contents.
The chapter is currently assisting seven families with their emergency needs, such as shelter, food and clothing. The Red Cross would like to encourage the community to support these services by making contributions to help offset the expense of this fire as well the apartment fire which occurred the prior weekend and affected three families.
Contributions are tax-deductible and can be made to the local chapter disaster services program by
calling 683-2438 or mailing a donation to 1650 West Second Street, Suite 220, Owensboro, KY 42301.
