Job Openings Top 1,700 at Holiday World

News Release: JOB OPENINGS TOP 1,700 AT HOLIDAY WORLD SANTA CLAUS, IN-----Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari officials will handle a record number of job applications this month as Job Fairs are held to fill more than 1,700 seasonal positions. Job seekers may arrive at any time during the Job Fairs, which will feature representatives from the park’s various departments, including Admissions, Food Services, Lifeguards, Rides, Games, Sweepers, Merchandise, and more. Applicants may speak with multiple department representatives and then apply to work for one or more departments. Job interviews will be conducted at that time. The Job Fairs will be held: Saturday, February 16, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm CST (slow time) Sunday, February 17, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon CST Tuesday, February 19, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm CST Saturday, February 23, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon CST A fifth Job Fair will be held in conjunction with the “Making the Cast” musical auditions planned for Friday, February 15, at Owensboro, Kentucky’s Towne Square Mall from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm CST. First-year employees will earn a base rate of $5.85 to $9.75 an hour. Benefits include: $200-$250 Summer Attendance Reward, automatic pay raise in July, personal Season Pass plus one-day tickets, park food and merchandise discounts, free soft drinks, employee parties, weekly incentive programs, and more. This season, the park will again offer an Employee Transportation Program for seasonal employees who would not otherwise have a ride to work. Available at a nominal fee, bus rides will be offered in Warrick, Vanderburgh, Perry, and Spencer Counties in Indiana, plus Kentucky’s Hancock and Daviess Counties. Applicants should attend one of the five Job Fairs, keeping in mind positions are often filled on a first-come basis. Parking is available in the main guest parking lot. Job applicants should bring the following: Social Security number, dates of non-availability (days needed off for returning to school, band camp, family vacations, etc.), information about past job experience, plus names and phone numbers of references. A downloadable job application is available online: www.holidayworld.com/jobs. The majority of the positions are available to applicants 16 years and older by May 2008. Additional jobs require a minimum age of 14 years by May. Applicants must be at least 14 years old on the date of the Job Fair to apply. Retirees and other adults seeking seasonal employment are also encouraged to apply. Holiday World opens for the season on May 3 with the premiere of Star Spangled Carousel and Reindeer Games; Splashin Safari opens May 10 with the new Kima Bay family waterplay complex, including seven water slides.
