United Airlines To Charge For Checking Extra Bag
(Chicago, IL) -- Its going to cost you more to check an extra bag in the friendly skies.
United Airlines said today it will begin charging some passengers 25-dollars to check a second bag in a move thats expected to generate more than 100-million-dollars a year in cost savings and revenue.
The nations number two airline says customers who purchase non-refundable domestic economy tickets and dont have status in Mileage Plus or Star Alliance may check one bag for free and a second bag for the 25-dollar service fee.
Previously, the cost of checking two bags was included in the fare for those customers.
