Race For Delegates From Super Tuesday Begins
(Washington, DC) -- Voting has begun on Super Tuesday with delegates in more than 20 states up for grabs.
Illinois Senator Barack Obama won the first contest.
CNN reported the Democratic presidential candidate was the choice for 75 of 100 Americans living in Indonesia.
The remaining votes went to New York Senator Hillary Clinton.
The two contenders are in a tight race nationwide.
Meanwhile, Arizona Senator John McCain hopes to nail down the Republican nomination.
He has to get past former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Texas Representative Ron Paul to do it.
Political experts say its unlikely that any one candidate will get enough delegates from the Super Tuesday to secure his or her partys nomination.

Giants Get Welcome In New York
(New York, NY) -- New York fans are taking part in a parade honoring their Giants great Super Bowl victory today.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the parade will begin in lower Manhattan at 11 a.m. Eastern with the ceremony at City Hall Plaza following.
Several million people are expected to fill the area for the parade.
The Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-to-14 at Super Bowl 42 in Glendale, Arizona, Sunday night.

Federal Judge: Injunction Against Navy Sonar Stands
(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Navy cant continue using sonar equipment during training exercises off the California coast.
Thats according to a federal judge who ruled yesterday that the injunction prohibiting the use of sonar equipment within 12 miles of the coast should remain in place.
Last month, a court issued an injunction only to have President Bush intervene, claiming nation security.
U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper rejected that argument, citing concerns that Bushs interference raised "significant concerns" with regards to its constitutionality.

Pettitte Discusses Steroid Use In Baseball With Lawyers
(Washington, DC) -- New York Yankee pitcher Andy Pettitte has talked to lawyers about a Congressional panel investigating steroid use in baseball.
The panel is preparing for a hearing on former Senator George Mitchells report on steroid use in baseball and Roger Clemens.
In the report, Clemens is named as a suspected user of steroids.
Clemens is scheduled to meet with committee lawyers today while his trainer Brian McNamee will be questioned Thursday.

Ohio Man Charged For Super Bowl Suicide Threat
(Deerfield Township, OH) -- An Ohio man is in trouble after threatening to commit suicide during a Super Bowl party.
Kevin Egan of Deerfield Township was arrested and charged with inducing panic, a felony.
According to the "Cincinnati Enquirer," police said the 35-year-old Egan was drunk and allegedly in possession of at least one handgun.
Egan made several threats and one to the police.
However, he did allow the party-goers to leave.

Court Grants Conservators Power Over Spears Money
(Los Angeles, CA) -- A Los Angeles court ruled Britney Spears father and an attorney can retain power over the troubled pop star and her money.
Court spokesman Allan Parachini said the conservatorship is temporary.
An attorney that appeared on behalf of Spears said shes upset her father was given authority over her because theyve been estranged for a long time.

Alabama Legislator Gets Into Fight
(Bay Minette, AL) -- In Alabama, state Representative Spencer Collier and Terry Wheat of Tuscaloosa put up their fists to resolve their problems.
Its not known what triggered the brawl on a community college campus.
Both Wheat and Collier were treated at a hospital.
Last year, two lawmakers also got into a fight.
