Airlines Report More Late Flights And Lost Baggage In 2007
- Airline passengers filed more complaints last year, during a period when flights were late more often and more bags were lost.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says the on-time flight arrival rate for 2007 was 73-point-four percent, down from 75-point-four-percent in 2006.
The 20 carriers reporting figures to the department say there were seven-point-zero-three reports of mishandled baggage per one-thousand passengers in 2007.
This topped the 2006 mishandled luggage figure of six-point-73 reports about baggage per one-thousand passengers.
Complaints filed about airlines rose 58-percent in 2007.
