State Police Uncover Indoor Marijuana Growing Operation

News Release: From Indiana State Police: State Police Uncover Indoor Marijuana Grow Operation, Four Arrested Evansville - Thursday afternoon, February 7, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at a residence located at 4213 Saddlebrook Lane, and uncovered an indoor marijuana grow operation. Troopers were able to obtain a search warrant after an investigation revealed illegal drug activity was occurring inside the residence. When troopers entered a spare bedroom they found 15 marijuana plants under high-intensity grow lights. The plants were less than three feet tall and would have had a street value of approximately $15,000. Troopers also found a small amount of processed marijuana packaged to sell and Oxycontin. The homeowner, Sheila Morton, 53, and her son, Timothy Morton, 25, were arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. Two guests, Kasie Schoenbaechler, 23, of Boonville, and Thomas Dycus, 22, of Evansville, were also arrested. ARRESTED AND CHARGES: Sheila Morton, 53, 4213 Saddlebrook Lane, Evansville, IN 1. Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class D Felony Kasie D. Schoenbaechler, 23, 400 Center Road, Boonville, IN 1. Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Oxycontin), Class C Felony 2. Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor Thomas Dycus, 22, 317 South St. James Blvd, Evansville, IN 1. Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor Investigating Officers: Trooper Kim Riordan, Sgt. Greg Oeth, Detective Marty Metzger, Sgt. Andy Clark, Sgt. Sherri Frobetter and Trooper Mark Green
