News Release: From Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau EVANSVILLE, IN. – In support of the decision announced today by Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau agrees to proceed with the proposed baseball/softball complex at another site in Vanderburgh County. “We appreciate the Mayor’s guidance in this project. It is a worthwhile project that we will go forward with as we continue to research alternative sites. Wesselman Park was our first choice but, certainly, not our only option,” said Evansville CVB Board President Joe Vezzoso. “Our intent is to build a premier facility that will be suitable for large regional and national tournaments as well as local team play. The selection of where it will be located was never definite.”
