Game Over. A proposal to build an estimated 8 million dollar baseball-softball complex at Wesselman Park struck out Thursday. Evansville mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel says the proposed 9-field complex would fill a niche and attract additional tourism business. But he listened to the people who voiced their concerns in traveling city hall meetings, letters, emails, and phone calls and says - there is a solution that will satisfy everyone. The Convention and Visitors Bureau says while Wesselmans was its first choice it was not the only one. The bureau says it will pursue the project at another location but theres no word where.
