breaking news
For a Newburgh man this Valentines day will be more special than any fathers day. Thats because after three years of uncertainty his three children will soon be home. This is how Matt Densley ended Wednesday night, on the phone. It just so happened to be one of the best phone calls a father could ever receive. But Densley hasnt been so lucky the past three years. In fact hes been living a real life nightmare.
Three years ago Densleys ex-wife, Tonya, kidnapped their children and left without saying word. Days passed, then months, and years. And no word from his kids or his ex-wife. Tonya hadnt only taken Densleys children, but she also kidnapped two of her other children from a previous marriage. After years of waiting, Densleys story aired on Americas Most Wanted in December. There were tips, leads, and one phone call that came Wednesday night. Densleys kids were thousands of miles away, but safe in California. Densleys children are now in the care of child protective services, and his ex-wife is under arrest. Densley says the investigation shows Tonyas family knew she had kidnapped the children, and yet did nothing. Although the wait has been gut-wrenching, Densleys looking forward to the future and sharing these five words with his kids.
"Welcome home...I love you."
A fund has been set up at Integra Bank to help the family purchase the items needed to properly welcome the children home.
