Nine and a half years in prison.
That's what the man convicted of involuntary manslaughter against a co-worker and reported lover got handed down from a judge.
A jury found 28-year old Jason Wells guilty of the crime last December.
He was on trial for the stabbing death of 62-year old John Carter.
That crime happened in October 2006 at the Econo Lodge on Fares Avenue.
Wells told police the two men were lovers and they got in a fight over sex and work.
Motel managers say Carter was employed as a maintenance man there.
