breaking news
The tornado that recently tore through Muhlenberg County left an estimated 40-thousand tons of debris throughout the community.
Now many residents want to know: Where can they take the debris?
Monday morning an emergency landfill will open in Muhlenberg County.
The landfill is located off of Highway 176, just past Goose Lake.
Judge executive Rick Newman says this will help speed-up the clean-up process.
Theyll only be accepting construction-type- debris--- all other garbage must be taken to the landfill in Graham, Kentucky.
As of now, he says the emergency landfill will be open for three months or on an as-need basis.
