Indianapolis To Bid On Hosting 2012 Super Bowl
(Indianapolis) -- The city of Indianapolis is making another attempt at hosting an upcoming Super Bowl.
An effort is underway to bring the 2012 game to the new Lucas Oil Stadium, which opens this summer.
A similar effort to land the 2011 Super Bowl fell short.
Indianapolis Super Bowl Bid Committee President Mark Miles was joined at Tuesdays announcement by Mayor Greg Ballard, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, and Eli Lilly and Company President John Lechleiter.
The bid will expand on the proposal from last year.
Preliminary bids are due to the NFL by April 1st.
