A Kentucky senator wants to get rid of CATS testing in favor of a national testing system.
Republican Dan Kelly says a new test would save money and time in the classroom.
Through senate bill one, he proposes eliminating arts multiple choice and writing portfolios....which are now a part of CATS.
Owensboros Assistant Superintendent of instruction, Jill Rone agrees that an update of Kentuckys testing system is needed.
The bill will go to committee next and Senator Kelly believes it has enough support from both parties to pass.
