State Police Arrest Patoka Man for Arson

Wednesday morning, February 20, at 10:00 a.m., Indiana State Police arrested Joe Wolfe, 37, of Patoka, after an investigation revealed he intentionally set fire to Kathy Garret and Brian Camden’s residence back in December 2006. The residence was located at 3120 Old Owensville Road, near Princeton. Indiana State Police Detective W.W. George initiated an investigation after receiving information Wolfe had intentionally set fire to the residence on Christmas Day 2006. During the investigation, Detective George revealed Wolfe was living in a camper near Garret and Camden’s residence. On December 25, 2006, Camden, Garrett and their six children left the residence to visit relatives in Jasper. Wolfe, who was staying in the nearby camper, entered their residence and intentionally set a fire in the kitchen. The fire eventually destroyed the home. This is an on-going investigation. Yesterday afternoon, February 21, Joe Wolfe pleaded guilty in Gibson Circuit Court. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 20th.
