Its leap year--and who knows leaping better than frogs? Thats why staff at Mesker Zoo are urging you to think green this year and help save our amphibian friends. The world conservation union estimates that at least one-third of known amphibian species are threatened with extinction. Thats why the Association of Zoos and Aquariums have declared 2008 as the year of the frog. Many activities will be taking pace world wide to raise awareness about the dangers amphibians face. The zoo is encouraging everyone in the tri-state to wear green on Leap Day, Friday. To find out more about other ways to help, log on to www.aza.org and click on "year of the frog"
