Police are looking for the suspect behind a fatal shooting on Evansvilles east side. Police say one Ida Jefferson was shot to death on the sidewalk in front of an apartment complex in the 2900 block of East Jefferson Avenue. Officers were called there around 3:30am Friday in response to a fight in progress. Police say Joaquin Starks is their prime suspect in the shooting. They say he drove away from the scene, possibly in a white, 1985 Oldsmobile Royal with Indiana tag number 82 X 443, or in a gold, 1986 Chevy Caprice Classic with Indiana tag 82 X 156. SWAT officers raided a house at 1719 East Franklin looking for Starks this morning, but could not locate him. If you have any leads, please call the Evansville Police Department.
