US & World Summary Big Primary Election Day Approaches Hillary Clinton will try to break Barak Obamas victory streak when voters go to the polls tomorrow in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont. While the Democratic presidential race is still close, Republican candidate John McCain is enjoying a massive lead in delegate totals heading into tomorrow. Obama has a streak of eleven straight victories in primaries and caucuses across the country that has given him the lead in the overall Democratic delegate count. --- American Soldier Suspected Of Murdering Military Couple (Parkland, WA) -- A female U.S. soldier suspected of killing a military couple and nabbing their baby is behind bars in Washington state. The Fort Lewis soldier is in the Pierce County jail and the baby is safely in the care of Child Protective Services. The "Tacoma News Tribune" says couple were discovered shot to death last night. Both were in their 20s and were active-duty Army Medics based at Fort Lewis. --- Tornadoes Touch Down In Oklahoma With the spring tornado season slowly approaching, a pair of twisters roared through Oklahoma last evening, leaving a trail of downed power poles. The "Oklahoman" reports the storms were triggered by a strong cold front moving across the state. Oklahoma authorities say numerous power lines are down south of Manchester in Grant County near the Kansas state line. One of the storms hit Blaine County, leaving behind structural damage to buildings. --- Former Alderman Claims Excessive Force In Alabama Arrest (Montgomery, AL) -- A hospital visit with her 86-year old aunt wound up in jail time for a longtime civil rights activist in Montgomery, Alabama. Dorothy Tillman apparently got into a dispute with a nurse concerning her aunts medical records and the nurse dialed the police. Tillman claims officers used excessive force as they arrested her for trespassing, saying the officers put her in leg chains and shackles. Tillman is back in Chicago after a Montgomery pastor posted her bond. Shes scheduled to appear in court there on March 31st. Tillman is a former Chicago Alderman. --- Federal Courts To Oversee Water Rights Issue The U.S. government will no longer be trying to stem the tide in a dispute over shared water supply in three southern states. The "Gainesville Times" reports Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne has issued a letter to Georgia, Florida and Alabama saying the federal government will no longer play a part in the management process. The states have battling over water from two Georgia lakes since 1990. The White House brought the governors of the three states to Washington last month to try to work out a compromise. --- Hillary Clinton And Rudi Giuliani Make "SNL" Appearance (New York, NY) -- Live from New York its presidential candidate time. Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton and former Republican candidate Rudi Giuliani made surprise appearances on NBCs "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. Senator Clinton appeared during a skit which poked fun at last weeks Democratic debate between Clinton and fellow candidate Barack Obama, with "SNL" star Amy Poehler playing Clinton. The real Clinton then appeared, delivering the shows signature line, "Live from New York, its Saturday night." Later in the show Giuliani showed up during the "Weekend Update" portion of the hit show. --- Punishment Revoked In School Penny Prank (Readington, NJ) -- Using pennies as a protest against a shortened lunch period will not cost some New Jersey middle school students after all. Students at a Readington middle school had originally been punished for their common cents reaction to the shortened lunch time but the Newark "Star Ledger" says detentioned punishment wouldnt be enforced unless parents said it should be. Twenty-nine students had been given two days detention after they used pennies to pay for their school lunches last Thursday in protest of a shortened lunch period.
