"Miracle on the Hudson" Survivor Shares Courageous Story

It's known as the "Miracle on the Hudson." On January 15, 2009, a flight taking off from New York City hit a flock of geese three minutes into the flight, causing both engines to fail.
The pilot, Captain Chesley `Sully' Sullenberger, landed the plane in the Hudson River a few minutes later. All 155 passengers survived.
One of those passengers, Dave Sanderson, joined us on Local 7 Lifestyles Friday morning to share is heroic story. Sanderson was in town from North Carolina to take part in the American Red Cross' Heroes Banquet.

Captain Sullenberger is a highly trained ATP and a hero. His training really paid off that day.We are blessed with hundreds of other pilots just like that.
Thank God there are not many that are tested like that.
