Indiana highway officials have responded to a request by the White County Bridge Commission to close the New Harmony Toll Bridge. INDOT officials have ruled to close the bridge, effective immediately.
The bridge will be closed indefinitely to all traffic crossing from New Harmony, IN into White County, IL. The official detour follows Indiana State Road 69 in Interstate 64 and Illinois State Road 1.
Slow-moving vehicles such as farm equipment are advised to use Indiana State Road 62 to the Mount Vernon Toll Bridge.
