The Henderson City Commission is trying to figure out what it should do with money left over from a federal grant.

The commission recently found out they have around 1.6-million dollars left over in federal funds to better the city's riverfront. There is one restriction regarding how the money can be used -- it must be used on riverfront improvements.

Mayor Steve Austin says he'd like to see a facility built with the funds. He says it would be a venue that houses 250 to 300 people for special events. Tuesday Mayor Austin asked the commission to investigate if building that facility with the remaining funds is possible.

While it's uncertain what the extra grant money will be used for, the city says that money will be used.
