Mike Huckabee drops out of race and calls for a united Republican Party. --
After an unexpectedly strong campaign, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is dropping out of the Republican presidential race.
In a speech in Texas, Huckabee said he fought a good fight and stayed in the
race until it was over.
Senator John McCain is now the presumptive G-O-P presidential nominee -- and
Huckabee is asking his supporters to back McCain for the good of the Republican
Party.
McCain beat Huckabee in Texas and three other states tonight, surpassing the
11-hundred-91 delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination.
