US & World Summary --- Clinton Wins Texas Primary, Trails In Caucus (Dallas, TX) -- Theres still no clear cut winner in yesterdays Texas Democratic caucus, but Hillary Clinton and John McCain were the winner of the states presidential primaries. With her primary win last night over Barack Obama, Clinton picked up 64 delegates to the Democratic national convention later this year, but Obama could also get some delegates if he wins the closely contested caucus. On the Republican side, John McCain easily beat Mike Huckabee for all of the Texas delegates at the GOP convention later on this year, winning the "winner-take-all" primary 51 to 38-percent. --- Election Results Delayed In Ohio Due To Ballot Shortage Ballot shortages last night in two Ohio counties lead to a delay in election results and extended voting hours. The shortages in Cuyahoga 1/81/8 kye-ah-HOH-gah 3/83/8 and Sandusky Counties led Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner to order the polls to stay open until 9 p.m. local time. In Cuyahoga County, the Barack Obama campaign filed suit to extend the voting to accommodate more voters. Voters in the Buckeye state chose Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton and Arizona Republican Senator John McCain in their bids for the White House. --- Five Likely Dead In Oklahoma Jet Crash (Oklahoma City, OK) -- As many as five people may have been killed in the crash of a Cessna Citation jet yesterday afternoon in Oklahoma City. Authorities say the plane had just taken off when, for unknown reasons, the pilot lost control, and the aircraft plunged into a wooded area approximately five-miles southwest of the airport. Two of the victims aboard the craft have been identified as the president and vice-president of an Oklahoma City company. The jets two pilots were also killed and the cause of the crash is under investigation. --- NAACP Calls For Full Investigation Into School Brawl (Miami, FL) -- The NAACP wants a detailed investigation into last Fridays brawl at a Miami, Florida high school. A chapter spokesman says the organization wants to ensure that the civil rights of the students werent violated and that police didnt use excessive force. More than two dozen students were arrested and ten police officers injured during last weeks melee. The students claim they were attacked by police while trying to stage a peaceful protest, but authorities say the students attacked the officers by throwing chairs, milk cartons and books. --- Surveillance Tapes Erased As Search For Woman Continues (Chicago, IL) -- Theres been a setback in the search for a Chinese national who disappeared at Chicagos OHare Airport. According to the "Chicago Tribune," some airport surveillance tapes officials hoped to examine have been recorded over since her disappearance last week. Authorities have been able to determine that the woman did not get on any other planes, and her luggage was picked up. She had flown back to Chicago after visiting her family overseas. --- Mentally Ill Committing More Crimes In New Orleans (New Orleans, LA) -- Louisiana officials have unveiled a 90-million-dollar mental health plan designed to help resolve New Orleans critical health crisis. Since being devastated by Hurricane Katrina two-and-a-half years ago, the city has lost nearly all of its public mental health facilities and community outreach centers. Officials say that has resulted in an increase in the number of violent crimes involving the mentally ill. City health department estimates say that at least 12-percent of the population show some sign of mental illness. --- 50 Cent To Back Mayweather In "Wrestlemania" Match Up Boxer Floyd Mayweather has at least one rapper in his corner. 50 Cent is throwing his support behind Mayweather in an upcoming wrestling event. According to MTV, the rapper will join the boxing champ in a "Wrestlemania" match-up against pro-wrestling star Big Show later this month. Its not a totally unfamiliar role for 50 who rapped "I Get Money" while escorting Mayweather into a boxing ring last summer before a match against Oscar De La Hoya.
